What hospitals typically do first

  1. Measure & verify: energy baselines (electricity, heat, steam), critical loads, and resilience risks.
  2. Cut waste fast: HVAC scheduling, setpoints, controls tuning, steam leaks, lighting upgrades, heat recovery.
  3. Electrify: high-temp heat pumps where feasible, low-temp systems first, plan for electrical upgrades.
  4. Renewables + storage: on-site PV, PPAs, batteries sized for clinical priorities.
  5. Scope 3: procurement and pharma/device supply chains (often the largest slice).
