Data & Methods
This site is designed to be transparent: where data comes from, how it’s processed, and what it can’t say.
Public data ≠ hospital-specific
The dashboard starts with reputable global public datasets for context. Hospital-specific decarbonization requires verified facility KPIs (energy, heat, refrigerants, anesthetics, fleet, waste, procurement).
Real-time grid carbon is optional
Electricity carbon intensity is highly location- and time-dependent. This site supports a live integration via Electricity Maps (token required) and can be extended to local grid APIs where available.
Cite sources and be honest about uncertainty
The AI assistant is instructed to prefer reputable sources and to say “I don’t know” when uncertain. It should provide source links and encourage verification for high-stakes decisions.
Sustainable web practices
This site is designed to be lightweight: system fonts, minimal JS, cached API requests, and compressed assets to reduce page weight and energy use.
Add your hospital data
For the “best-in-world” version, connect your verified data streams: building energy meters, steam/hot-water, on-site generation, fleet fuel, refrigerants, anesthetic gas usage, and procurement. The dashboard already supports plugging in new API routes — start by adding a route under /app/api/data.
